Wicked: For Good 2025
I enjoyed the first installment of Wicked and it finished second highest in my 2024 Top 10. However reviews were not as good for this one, some complaining it was too long, so I was a little apprehensive. I thought it was still quite solid. There aren't the big dance numbers like in the first one, and it isn't as much fun, but it is still neat to watch and it incorporates a little of Dorothy's story, which is part of the payoff. I didn't think the movie was overly long, it just has a lot of things to tie up. It is certainly not a flawless musical and doesn't seem to really explain these two characters, other than in a basic way. But the design and effects are impressive and I can't fault the singing of either of the two leads. I still feel like it deserves an A- anyway, though maybe, like last time, I am being a little overly generous.
