I never watched saw this movie, but it has a very strong following as a classic action movie, so I figured I should see what it was all about It is fun to watch, mindless cops and robbers crossed with surfing and skydiving with this bromance between Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze, but it can't escape its own impossible setup. Swayze's character does so many things that make no sense. After setting up a smart FBI guy and a smart villain, it is disappointing that it had to get so dumb, which it really, really does. Reeves and Swayze bring a lot to the movie, with a nice performance by Lori Petty, but they can't stop the movie from collapsing around them.
